The Class
Magic: changing consciousness at will. Our consciousness changes if we pay attention, take responsibility, build relationships, understand our interconnectedness with the world and the earth. With the art of magic, we deepen our vision and focus our will, empowering ourselves to act in our own lives and in the world.
In this class we explore the practice of Magic, Witchcraft, and Goddess spirit by working with the Elements of Magic: Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. With these elements, we will explore ritual, creating magical space, working with energy, visualization, trance, song, spellcraft and more.
Elements of Magic is for both the new seeker just exploring magic, and experienced practitioners who want to deepen their work. It is an opportunity to actively engage in participatory learning and experience - growing personal practice and working with others in a group.
Elements of Magic is a core class in the Reclaiming Tradition of Witchcraft (http://www.reclaiming.org), but you don?t need to be part of Reclaiming to participate. Group experience happens in the framework of feminist consensus process. We hope to provide a fair and nurturing environment for all participants. While classes can be transformative for participants, they are not a substitute for professional therapy.
The Teachers
Zoe Soulspirals is a fierce witch with deep passion who is in love with the Reclaiming Tradition. She is devoted to getting to know herself - reading, singing, drumming, praying, plotting, talking and writing along the way. A research and networking whore, she weaves webs of connection between ideas, dreams and people. She has been known to conjure magic with shiny pieces of technology. Choosing action over despair, she weaves magic and revolution in her own life as well as with the Pagan Cluster. In addition to her work in the Ithaca Reclaiming Community, she has taught at a few Witchcamps around the country.
Elizabeth/FireDancer is a lover of dance, the ocean, ritual, magic and Mystery. Resisting labels, her spirituality is informed by many traditions and practices, particularly Reclaiming, Dances of Universal Peace, and Circlework. A first year mystery at Diana?s Grove Mystery School, she has recently found her calling in hospice work.
Hawkeye Bolowolf is a queer witch with geeky tendencies. Hawkeye's interests include service, gender, sexuality, and messing with people. A long time spiritual seeker, Hawkeye has been involved with Reclaiming since early 2002 and is an apprentice in the Feri tradition.
